London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

We provide support to people and their families in the UK who have Phelan-McDermid Syndrome (chromosome 22q13.3 deletion). This support is provided through information, therapies and financial grants, and by organising family days and get-togethers. Thank you for supporting PMSF UK.

Story

This year I will be running the London marathon for the first time and I will be trying to raise as much money as I can for Phelan-McDermid Syndrome (PMS). It is a charity that is very close to my heart as one of my close friends, Charlie, has the disorder.

PMS is a rare genetic disorder that affects speech, mobility, and cognitive development. There are almost 250 people who are diagnosed with Phelan- McDermid Syndrome in the UK & Ireland, and over 2200 worldwide.

All people with PMS have difficulty communicating; many are non-verbal and have issues around cognitive development and mobility. People diagnosed with PMS need additional care to support their daily lives.

I know times are tough financially at the moment, but if you could spare anything to help this amazing charity it would be amazing.
