Craig's Half Marathon · 14 June 2020

St Gemma's Hospice is a local, independent charity providing the best possible care and support for people in Leeds with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. We support patients and their families, both in the Hospice and in the community, at any stage of their illness.

Story

Craig's Half Marathon came about when I decided that due to the Leeds Half Marathon being cancelled, I'd run a half marathon on my own from home and back again.  I asked a few running friends on Facebook if they wanted to join in, and so we had 35 runners setting off from their homes at 9:30am on 10 May.

Lots of runners contacted me following this, and suggested doing another one, so Craig's Socially Distanced Half Marathon takes place on 14 June at 9:30am UK time.

I must give a massive shout out to Wendy Sears who contacted me and asked if I would like her to design a running bib for me.  What a brilliant idea. Of course I said yes.  Wendy has been pretty busy since then, making numbers for ever runner who has signed up, and as of 24 May we are at 300 runners.  Thank you so much Wendy for giving up your time to do this.

Coronavirus has caused lots of events to be cancelled, with charities losing out on much needed funds and thanks to suggestions made by many people, Craig's Half Marathon is fundraising for St Gemma's Hospice.

I hope we can help them out a little.

Thanks for your support and please remember your social distancing.

Craig
