London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
Today I have accepted a charity place to run the London Marathon 2018 for Kidney Research uk.
Both myself and my nine year old daughter Isabelle have a genetic chronic kidney disease called Alports syndrome.
Alports syndrome causes gradual and continuous kidney failure mainly in males (females usually have lesser symptoms) and usually before age of 20.
I am now heading for my 21st birthday (I wish) and based on my current kidney rate of decline I will be having a kidney transplant in around 3 years time.
So I decided it was time to accept it is happening, start talking about it, get super fit and to raise money for kidney research uk.
Kidney Research UK is the leading charity dedicated to research into kidney disease in the UK.
Please also visit Simon Nelmes page, a great friend from way back (school days) who is also running the London marathon for Kidney Research UK - Thanks Nelmes!
