Story
A little while ago Clare and I gave up a lot of the things we love for one whole month in aid of this fantastic cause:
Eilidh Brown died from cancer on 25.3.2010 aged just 15. The charity aim to build a holiday home in Scotland for young people and their families who have been touched by cancer, in Eilidh's memory. Eilidh's family understand the strain families experience and know the relief a holiday will bring.
This year I intend to go one step further than what Clare and I did last time and give up alcohol as well as a few other things I am quite possibly addicted to for the whole of 2018…including Irn Bru.
For those who don’t know me, I have been involved in restaurants from the age of 11 and currently own a neighbourhood Café, Bar & Restaurant called Home SW15 in London. It’s fair to say I drink a “fair” amount of delicious lager and a “fair” amount of delicious coffee (…mainly in the mornings after drinking the delicious lager the night before…)
I am lucky enough to live in a City with some of the best restaurants in the world and as much as I love to dine out I also love to smash a McDonalds at 1am and order curry twice a week…
It's a fact this will be a massive challenge for me. Yearly I probably drink around 400 cans of fizzy juice, 385 Pints of Beer, 1100 Flat Whites (Yes, One Thousand & One Hundred) and eat over 200 Takeaways / Big Macs.
To make things even harder - This year I turn 30, have my mate's stag in Prague in April and his Wedding in the Summer. Not to mention the countless wines and spirits I will be unable to taste at work...
So when the clocks strike midnight I will be giving up the following for the whole of 2018:
F - Fizzy Juice - Not one can of Irn Bru, Orange Lucozade or others!
A - Alcohol - All the beers, all the Gins, not one sip of Booze.
C - Caffeine – No Tea. No Coffee. Not even on a lazy Sunday.
T – Takeaways & Fast Food – No Curry. No Dominos. No Maccy D’s.
So guys - Show me some love and thanks for taking the time to read this if you've got to the bottom...
Craig x
