Craneware Virtual Charity Pub Quiz · 4 September 2020

We are a mental health and well-being support organisation for black, minority ethnic, asylum seeker and refugee women and girls. We promote well-being by combating effects of discrimination, abuse, reducing the stigma of mental health, and improving access to mainstream services and education.

Story

In Q1 this year, Craneware Cares is supporting Saheliya, a specialist mental health & well-being support organisation for black,  minority ethnic, asylum seeker, refugee and migrant women and girls (12+) in the Edinburgh and Glasgow area.

By asking for donations in return for entry into a pub quiz, we are hoping to raise much-needed money to help this organisation support groups of women and girls who might be ignored by mainstream society. It costs:

  • £25 to offer a session with a specialist case worker;
  • £30 to run a creche for children of women attending classes at Saheliya,
  • £47 to provide a 1 hour counselling session for 12-25 year old women.

It's not much and it makes a world of difference to these women and helps them be in control of their own lives.
