Story

Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer
or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to
donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant.
We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist
post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the
transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of
everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us
closer to that day.

Many of you would have read the attached article from Lauren, who is
such a strong young lady supporting her Dad and Family.

Mark needs to find a match and whilst we encourage people to sign up to
the register, we also want to show our support of the great work the Anthony
Nolan Trust do.

Our little social group, born of our book club 'The Cranky Readers' have
decided to cover the distance from Liverpool, from where Mark came, to Tadley
where he and Fiona set up home over 30 years ago which is 210 miles. We will be
breaking down the distance over a few group walks completing our goal in
September, which coincides with Anthony Nolan's official Walking Together fund
raising month.

We are asking for donations to this worthy cause to help get us to our
target of £1,000 and please do take time to read the Anthony Nolan page and
consider registering. If like the Crankies you are  over 30 and unable to register with the Anthony Nolan Trust to donate please consider the DKMS to register to donate stem cells.
