Story
30 November 2011: Congratulations to Laurence, Gareth and Karen, who collapsed across the finish line of Hellrunner Hell Down South last weekend, after dragging their sorry bodies across 11 miles of muddy, rocky, wet and boggy terrain at Longmoor Military Training Camp to raise funds for Oakleaf Enterprise charity.
Whilst the running style of each of our heroes may have varied from “sluggish” to “sprightly”, it was hard to tell them apart at the finish line as each was gloriously covered in mud and smiles!
The highlight of the run (and that’s meant ironically!) was undoubtedly the Bog of Doom, a freezing chest-high slick of sludge. The only good thing about that was getting out at the end.
Of course, the point of all this was to raise money for Oakleaf, and we’re delighted to have raised £785 so far. We’re still some way off our target, though, so please donate what you can to raise money for this fantastic cause.
Oakleaf support those recovering from mental illness, not only in facilitating the recovery of those who have suffered from mental illness, but in educating the wider public about mental illness and overcoming the negative attitudes individuals often encounter when seeking to get back to work.
