Story
I am taking part in a fund-raising trek to Mardi Himal in the Himalayas in support of The Michelle Henderson Trust. The Trust is the legacy of Scottish football legend Willie Henderson’s daughter Michelle.
Michelle was diagnosed with cervical cancer in October 2010 and bravely fought the disease for 2 years before sadly passing away on 1st October 2012.
Michelle set up the trust to give back to those who had helped during her treatment, while bringing awareness to the condition and in turn raising funds towards hospital equipment, medicines and support groups for women suffering from the illness. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer amongst women aged 35 and under in the UK meaning awareness and support need to be readily available to all affected.
Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust is run by unpaid volunteers, receives no government funding, and exists solely by the kind support of the community.
I would very much appreciate your support in my effort in raising £2000 for this wonderful cause.
