Crazy Gap Trio 2.6

The 2.6 Challenge · 26 April 2020 ·
2.6.. easy!
We are a team of three from the Midlands who all have a shared
interest in Greyhound Gap, a sighthound and lurcher rescue who rescue, rehome
and rehabilitate Greyhounds and lurchers (plus a whole heap more!)
We saw the 2.6 challenge and were trying to work out
collectively what we could do. Karen and Marc had planned to run the famous Mow
Cop Killer Mile but with it being cancelled we wanted to work out how to recreate
it. Then this great (!?) idea came about.
Karen is going to walk the equivalent of 2.6 miles up and
down the staircase. We worked out that it will be 545 trips down and up
combined. The Killer Mile equivalent would’ve been 423 trips up and down the
stairs so this is just a tad more! Karen is aiming to complete this in one day-
not sure which day just yet but to coincide with Marc finishing the marathon
run.
Marc hates running but aims to run every couple of days to
keep fit. He has decided to run a marathon over 10 days to really push himself.
Each day he will run 2.6 miles starting Monday 27th April. It’s a
gruelling job but he will complete it with a smile on his face.
Rachel enjoys bike riding so is going to cover 26 miles
across 2 days. She will start Wednesday 6th May and finish on
Thursday 7th May to coincide with Marc finishing his marathon.
Between the three of them they will have covered 54.6 miles
across the 10 days but each completing the 2.6 challenge.
At this time of global pandemic it is important to stick
together and support each other. Greyhound Gap is completely self-funded and
with all fund raising opportunities now on the back burner they are trying to
do as much virtual fundraising as possible- support this crazy team and
donations will be matched by the 2.6 campaign and the rescue can continue the
hard work they have been doing for the past 15+ years.
