Credit Suisse staff will be supporting Refuge as our UK Charity of the Year for 2022, raising funds for Refuge's National Domestic Abuse Helpline

Story

Encouraged by Eric Tan (my manager) and supported by Maria Davis (she is really the person who provided this adventure a kick-start and brought in Adam Hajnak), I was lucky to be able to convince Ed Heneghan (the most impressive walker I have met in my life) and Vadim Belotcaci (a committed runner with an ambitious goal to achieve by year end) to join me on the Walk Your Way - Step Challenge. We set a rather ambitious goal for the team and will walk for the next two weeks in support of Refuge.

Refuge is Credit Suisse's UK Charity of the Year and we feel honored to support their cause, more on which you can read below...

...One in four women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime. Two women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales alone. Refuge's National Domestic Abuse Helpline is a gateway to domestic abuse services across the country and is often the first place a woman experiencing domestic abuse will receive the emotional and practical support she needs. Credit Suisse aim to support Refuge's National Domestic Abuse Helpline to:

- Provide more support sessions to women, implement a new contact centre platform to increase efficiency and enable the team to speak to more women

- Provide enhanced support to women seeking refuge facing additional barriers to accessing support, inclusive of the introduction of a dedicated refuge referrals line

- Maintain accessible services, inclusive of online live chat services and British Sign Language services
