Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, one of our members, Joe Lunn, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. He has a rare form of cancer, known as a Synovial Sarcoma. Joe is currently undergoing intense chemotherapy at the Royal Marsden in Sutton.

At 17 years old, Joe is a likeable young man, brave and extremely determined to beat this and face it as he would playing as a batsman and wicketkeeper, with the occasional (!) chirp from behind the stumps.

Joe has been at Sutton since he was 7, enjoying playing colt's cricket and is now an established member of Saturday and Sunday cricket with the adult teams. During his treatment, he has even managed to play some Sunday friendly matches.

The club wishes to support Joe as much as we can and have decided to use Cricket Week as an opportunity to raise as much money as we can for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The Trust supports the unit at the Marsden where Joe stays, for 4 days at a time, during his treatment. Let's raise as much as we can and help not just Joe out but others like him who are suffering from this disease.
