A one-stop shop of integrated therapy services helping children and young people with movement disorders reach their full potential. The sooner we act, the greater the impact. We offer physiotherapy, conductive education, occupational therapy, music therapy, speech and language therapy and DMI.

Story

Most of you probably know that our youngest son, Austin, has mild cerebral palsy. He got diagnosed at 10 months old, and an MRI at age two confirmed a brain injury affecting the right side of his body. This was likely caused by a stroke before he was born, when he was nearly full-term.

Around 1 in 400 children in the UK have CP and as we have learned, the condition encompasses a huge spectrum. Although it's something Austin will live with for his whole life, we are lucky that he isn't more severely affected.

For some reason, turning 40 this year (eek!) is motivating me to set myself a fitness challenge, and while it isn't a marathon – or even a half marathon – for me, 10km feels like a long way! I mean, I will basically be running for an hour... A WHOLE HOUR, PEOPLE!!! And this is the girl who detested P.E. like no other...

It would be a bit remiss of me to pass up the opportunity for some fundraising on this momentous sporting occasion, so I have chosen a CP charity. CPotential works with children and young people with movement disorders, like cerebral palsy. They depend on voluntary contributions to provide a range of services. Your kind donation might go towards equipment for a baby's therapy session, an instrument for music therapy, or some vital physio for a child or younger person.

I really would be enormously grateful for anything you can give. It will not only benefit this charity hugely, but will inspire me to pound each and every kilometre! Thank you. x
