We provide palliative and end of life care to people with a life-limiting illness

Story

The team from CrossFit Iron Duke organise two charity events a year for local charities.  In 2019, we held a marathon row and a 24hr WODathon and raised almost £10,000..........

Our first event for 2020 is on Saturday 18 January, when our charity ‘Row for Rowans’ takes place…….this event is a 2 million challenge..... in
teams of four, each team will row 100,000m… we have 20 teams taking part……. each team rows 100,000meters (100k) x 20 teams = 2,000,000m.....

We have so many of our members – including children and teens – taking part, and almost all of them have been affected by someone they love needing care in their time of need.

Rowans Hospice was chosen as the charity of choice by our members of CrossFit Iron Duke, and is our local hospice.  Rowans are a charity providing free care and support to adults in our community who have a life-limiting illness and their families.

Many people think that hospices are all about dying. But through their many different services, they support people to live as well as they can with their illness. From the moment of diagnosis through to bereavement support.

Every year, it costs £6.5 million to provide the services at Rowans, and
they rely on charitable donations to keep care free for those who need it.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
