Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike 2022 - half marathon · 11 September 2022 ·

Theres around 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today, and over 360,000 more are diagnosed every year. Right now, millions of people with cancer are counting on us for physical, financial and emotional support. Let's do something Mighty.

Story

Thanks for supporting my fundraising.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in the autumn of 2021. It was a frightening experience but I was carried through it all by my family, friends, the NHS and Macmillan nurses. I wanted to give something back when I was fit enough to do so.

Five of us had signed up to participante in the Jurassic Coast Half-Marathon, but the official event was cancelled due to the timing of Her Majesty the Queen's death. Despite this, we all decided to do the hike anyway - as did hundreds of others. So our initial mission has already been accomplished; our fundraising target was met; and we are all grateful for everything people have managed to give.

As the official walk was, however, not undertaken, Macmillan offered us all the chance to join another walk - just for the hell of it really - and so I have decided to do a marathon walk in Norfolk in 2023. I have therefore kept the page open for anyone still wishing to contribute to the fundraising mission.

Thank you for taking time to visit.
