The Rally will be from Canary Wharf to Dublin via Liverpool with a loop of southern Ireland, as before 'Father Ted' will be travelling in a car purchased for no more than £500 that will hopefully see them to the finish line! or at least they are praying it will!

About the charity .....

Today in the UK, six people will sit in a hospital clinic and hear the devastating news that they have motor neurone disease.  In that instant, their world – and the world of their loved ones - is shattered.

MND attacks the nerves, leaving those affected unable to walk, talk, eat and ultimately to breathe. It usually
progresses rapidly and there is currently no effective treatment or cure. One third of people with MND lose their life within a year and over half within two years.

Credit Suisse is supporting MNDA with three programmes that people with MND have identified as a top priority for them over the next two years:

  1. Giving people with MND access to specialist care from a Care Centre in their locality, ensuring that they get the support they need as soon as they need it.

  2. Enabling people with MND to communicate with loved ones and carers until the end of their lives by offering them technology to use while they still have a voice.

  3. Carrying out more research into the genetic causes of the disease, helping us to speed up our search and eventually our ability to identify treatments that will work in the future.

Please dig deep, every pound counts.
