The Combat Stress Centenary Race Day · 27 October 2019
The Combat Stress Centenary Raceday is being held on Sunday 27 October 2019 at Wincanton Racecourse.
Combat Stress has been supporting Veterans' mental health for 100 years and demand for its services is greater than ever. It is providing treatment and support to almost 3,500 veterans ranging in age from 97 to 20 years’ old and has conducted some 8,000 appointments in the last year. Hitherto, it has taken an average of 13 years from a veteran leaving the military to seeking help from Combat Stress, but this is changing as more and more veterans from the Iraqi and Afghanistan campaigns are seeking help much sooner.
The Committee has run two previous race days, in 2014 and
2016, raising just under £98,000 for Combat Stress. It would be great to
get the combined total up to £150,000 at the centenary raceday in 2019.
