Fundraising for Fatboy's Cancer Charity
Story
On Monday 2nd - Sunday 8th of May we will be inviting our babyballet stars and upper school Yellow Rose Dance Company to bring their favourite Teddy to our classes. We would also LOVE you all to come to class in any fancy dress of your choosing.
We are fundraising on behalf of our babyballet star Ivy.
Ivy is 4 years old and attends our Movers class in Ramsgate. Since meeting Ivy we have been inspired to to launch a fundraiser for a charity that has supported Ivy and her family at their darkest times.
Here is Ivy's Story written by her mum Sarah:
Ivy was diagnosed with leukaemia in February 2020 aged 22 months. She was lethargic and had a temperature on and off for a few weeks and small bruises started to appear. Hearing the words “your child has cancer” was the worst moment of our lives. She is nearly 4 now and has been battling cancer for over half of her life. She is in and out of hospital, the treatment is harsh and the chemotherapy makes her really unwell. Despite all of this Ivy is a kind, clever, happy little girl who knows her own mind and she doesn’t let cancer stop her. Although she has missed out on so much she loves seeing her friends, going to the park and of course ballet! All being well her treatment is due to finish at the end of April this year and Babyballet wanted to help Ivy celebrate by raising awareness of childhood cancer and fundraising for a special cause.

One of the charities that has put a smile on Ivy’s face is Fatboy’s Cancer Charity. A group of volunteer ‘elves’ deliver Christmas presents to children with cancer all over the country. Over 1800 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK and Fatboy’s help as many as they can. We’d love to give back to them and help more children next year who are going through the worst time of their lives. Thank you so much for your support.
