SimplyHealth Great North Run 2018 · 9 September 2018 ·

The Great North Run is the biggest half marathon in the world with over 57,000 runners taking part. The course takes in the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields.

Story

On the 9th of September 2018 all three of us will be running the Great North Run in memory of our Grandma Ellen. To spur us through the 13.1 miles we’ve chosen to raise money for a charity close to our hearts; the Alzheimer’s Society.

Alzheimer’s society not only funds vital research into the cause and treatment of dementia but also runs support groups for people and their families. Our lovely Grandma was diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia in 2010. Even in the later stages of her disease she found lots of enjoyment from attending community groups such as ‘singing for the brain’.

We would be hugely grateful for any donations big or small to suppport this charity!

Thank you,

Anna, Megan & Joseph
