Cycle for Ukraine - Scotland north to south in a day (325 miles)

Cycle for Ukraine - The Lang Way Doon (Scotland in a Day) · 3 June 2022
None of us can have escaped the harrowing images of the atrocities being waged against the people of Ukraine. The intense conflict is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing millions to flee. Homes have been destroyed or are unsafe to live in. Infrastructure and essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Many lives have been lost.
Over the jubilee weekend in June, a group of riders from cycle clubs around Inverness and beyond will come together in a charity cycle to raise funds in support of the humanitarian relief effort for those affected by the war in Ukraine.
Our challenge is to cycle the length of Scotland, from Tongue to Coldstream, via Braemar (The Lang Way Doon), in under 24 hours. The route is 325 miles long and involves more than 18,000ft of climbing. We will be fully supported by a logistics team.
This is not a relay. Each rider is aiming to complete the entire 325 mile distance. All costs associated with the challenge are being met by the riders themselves.
DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.
