The Great Cycle Hike Run Challenge · 2 May 2015

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  This summer I've planned an epic triathlon which will see me covering 1000 miles under my own steam.

To start, I'll be cycling 200 miles in under 24 hours from London to Paris. Having never been on a road bike before, I'm a little nervous to say the least!

On completion of the bike leg, I'll head north to Scotland where I'll be completing a 200 mile self supported hike from the west coast to the east coast.  Carrying all my kit on my back, this is going to be 12 days of slogging through heather and brush, up hill and down dale, doing battle with the midges and the inevitable blisters until I reach St Cyrus.

However, this is only the warm up for the big one... On 1st June, I'll be setting off with my good friend Sarah to run from Ardnamurchan, the most westerly point of the UK to the most northerly point at John o Groats, a journey of 600 miles and around 80,000 feet of elevation -  that's more than three times the height of Everest! Again, self supported, we'll be aiming to complete the run in six weeks, covering 100 miles each week.

You all know the story now; as always I'm fundraising for the Stroke Association to raise awareness of Stroke in younger people. My husband Owain had a stroke aged 30 and I want to support the Stroke Association in the incredible work they do, undertaking vital research and providing much needed support to those who need it.
