In July I'll be cycling from Cusco in Peru to La Paz in Bolivia in just 20 days! That's 70km per day (45 miles) in famously mountainous and windy terrain at altitude - up to 15,800 feet!!
It's a pretty cool reminder of just how much better travelling by bicycle is than on foot, which is why as a medic I'm wanting to raise money for Maternity Worldwide - a small charity that sends bicycles and kit backpacks to midwives and healthcare workers across Africa - they're trained and ready to go, they just need to get to the people who need them!
