Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've decided to cycle the length of Denmark (~500km) on a Mountain Bike from the German border in Padborg up to Skagen - the most northern tip of the country. All Hands Volunteers is a non-profitable organisation that provides vital immediate and longer-term aid to those living (and dying) in the natural disaster stricken areas of Nepal. This cycle is the perfect opportunity to give a little to the organisation with the hope of saving/changing lives.
Why support me? In everyday life we take for granted the fact that we ourselves and our family members return home relatively risk free. In other areas of the globe, such as Nepal, that luxury is not a given. Disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, floods and avalanches are all heart-breakingly frequent and affect the lives of thousands of people everyday. For example, in April 2015, 9,000 were tragically killed and 22,000 injured in the 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake that struck. Despite being 2 years in the past, the effects can still be seen. Therefore, All Hands Volunteers provide ongoing medium-long term aid that will help get many areas of the country's infrastructure up and running sustainably once more. As a result, if we can reach the £1500 target we will be able to transform the lives of many from hopeless to hopeful.
Thank you for all your brilliant support,
Olie Kristensen
