Hello everyone,

My name is Enzo, and I am a gifted papa' of 2 beautiful whirlwinds: Marco and Olivia (above an attempt to eat tagliatelle with a final kiss).
Marco was born on the 16th of October 2019, 2 days before my birthday! It was the best present I could receive from my wife.
When he was only 6 weeks old, Marco was diagnosed with a Bilateral Retinoblastoma. That was the most challenging day for our family, but we were lucky because we had plenty of help and support from the NHS. Marco started his treatments immediately, and after several rounds of chemio, he is now stable. Thanks to the prompt intervention of the Retinoblastoma Team at the Royal London, Marco not only saved his life, but we were also able to save his eyes. There is still a lot of uncertainty around him and his vision, but we are optimistic, and Marco has shown us how strong and resilient he is.
Marco has taught me a lot every single day since he was born. Nothing is impossible for him. That’s the best lesson I learn looking at Marco when he plays, when he goes to the nursery, when he is in the hospital and when he smiles at me. And, of course, when he has tantrums! A lot of tantrums!
We have been lucky to have all the help and support from the NHS and the charities surrounding us with their lovely and helpful arms. Among the others that have helped us since the early days, Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) has become our second family. I can’t describe with proper words what the CHECT does for us every day. As our families live far, it is good to have a strong shoulder that you could rely on.
Now is the time for me to do something little for them!
During the last year, many charities went through many difficulties to get adequately funded, especially small charities like CHECT. The job they do every day is vital for people that are in need. I had planned to participate in the London to Brighton ride on behalf of CHECT. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, they have not been included in the charity’s sponsorships from the official competition. 

Therefore, I (rag. Fantozzi) decided to ride the path (around the middle of September) by myself with my friend Giuseppe (rag. Filini) and raise funds to donate.

I had started my training a week ago! I will keep you posted with photos and credits!
Help Marco and me for a good reason!

Mi chiamo Enzo, e sono un papa' fortunato di 2 bellissimi combinaguai: Marco e Olivia (sopra un tentativo di mangiare le tagliatelle con un Bacio finale). Marco è nato il 16 ottobre 2019, 2 giorni prima del mio compleanno! È stato il miglior regalo che ho potuto ricevere da mia moglie. Quando aveva solo 6 settimane, a Marco è stato diagnosticato un retinoblastoma bilaterale. Quello è stato il giorno più impegnativo per la nostra famiglia, ma siamo stati fortunati perché abbiamo ricevuto molto aiuto e supporto dal NHS. Marco ha iniziato immediatamente le sue cure e, dopo diversi cicli di chemio, ora è stabile. Grazie al pronto intervento del Retinoblastoma Team al Royal London, Marco non solo gli ha salvato la vita, ma siamo anche riusciti a salvargli gli occhi. C›è ancora molta incertezza intorno a lui e alla sua visione, ma siamo ottimisti e Marco ci ha mostrato quanto sia forte e resiliente. Marco mi ha insegnato molto ogni singolo giorno da quando è nato. Niente è impossibile per lui. Questa è la lezione più bella che imparo guardando Marco quando gioca, quando va all›asilo, quando è in ospedale e quando mi sorride. E, naturalmente, quando fa i capricci! Un sacco di capricci !Siamo stati fortunati ad avere tutto l' aiuto e il supporto del NHS e degli enti di beneficenza che ci circondano con le loro braccia adorabili e disponibili. Tra gli altri che ci hanno aiutato sin dai primi giorni, Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) è diventata la nostra seconda famiglia. Non riesco a descrivere con parole appropriate ciò che il CHECT fa per noi ogni giorno. Dato che le nostre famiglie vivono lontano, è bene avere una spalla forte su cui poter contare. Adesso è il momento per me di fare qualcosa di piccolo per loro! Durante l' ultimo anno, molti enti di beneficenza hanno attraversato molte difficoltà per ottenere finanziamenti adeguati, soprattutto piccoli enti di beneficenza come CHECT. Il lavoro che svolgono ogni giorno è vitale per le persone bisognose. Avevo programmato di partecipare alla corsa da Londra a Brighton per conto di CHECT. Sfortunatamente, a causa delle restrizioni di Covid, non sono stati inclusi nelle sponsorizzazioni dell›ente di beneficenza dal concorso ufficiale.

Pertanto, io (rag. Fantozzi) ho deciso di percorrere il sentiero (intorno alla metà di settembre) da solo con il mio amico Giuseppe (rag. Filini) e raccogliere fondi da donare. Vi terro' aggiornati! Aiutate me e Marco per una buona ragione!
