Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is easily the hardest thing that I have been silly enough to undertake. London to Paris 24 is a tough endurance cycle challenge with a simple concept – get to Paris in less than 24 hours. We cycle in a relay team of 2 over the 300 mile route setting out from Blackheath, before catching a ferry between Dover and Calais, and then head south for Paris throughout the night to arrive at the Eiffel tower in the morning.
Since the start of the year four of us, Dac Nguyen, Sammy Dunstan, Will Eng & Loughlin Magowan (aka: East London Road Hogs) have been training to undertake this endurance event for charity. We have spent numerous weekends as disorientated Aussies cycling through the English countryside – we had no clue where Colchester was! During the week we have forgone evenings at East London pubs to undertake shorter rides in preparation for this event.
Our chosen charity, Scope is a charity that supports disabled people and their families at every stage of their life. They offer a range of services for disabled children and adults. These include schools, colleges, residential homes and supported independent living.
I am very fortunate to have match-funding for up to £750 of this target from Barclays (my employers) for this event, so together with gift-aid, every £10 donated is worth over £25 to Scope!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks for all of your support and generosity, Dac
