We're here to help the over 700,000 autistic people in the UK and their families. Be it running specialist schools, campaigning for improved rights or training companies on being more autism-friendly.

Story

I will be taking part in the Jurassic Coast Challenge 2023 in aid of the National Autistic Society. During my BSc Psychology placement year, I wanted to gain experience in the clinical field, specifically Autism.

During my placement at Ascott-under-Wychwood Pre-School, I have worked 1:1 with a child with Autism, and closely supported other neurodivergent children. In the process, I learned the challenges associated with day-to-day life for people diagnosed with this disorder. The development of our bond has been so rewarding, as has seeing her progress and accomplishments made from the first day of Pre-School to present. I feel very proud to have played an important role in the beginning of her educational journey.

To end my year, I wanted to fundraise for a charity which provides support for families impacted by Autism. The National Autistic Society acknowledges the inequality, misunderstanding and isolation that people with Autism face. The National Autistic Society and their supporters campaign to protect the rights and interests of autistic people and their families. Through their campaigns they correct unfair policies and practices, they build public understanding and create a movement of support. Their aim is that together we can build a society that works for autistic people.

The Jurassic Coast Challenge is a 30km trek, it takes place on 1st July 2023 along the beautiful coastline of Dorset. All donations will be donated to the National Autistic Society.  I am looking forward to the challenge and would massively appreciate any contributions.  Thank you so much. x

UPDATE: thank you so much for all of your kind and generous donations so far. The National Autistic Society has asked for £250 minimum fundraising which we have reached. Thank you so much! Going forward, any donations over the target will be absolutely amazing and all money will go towards this brilliant charity!
