Story
You This Sunday – 26 April – would've been one of the biggest fundraising days in the UK charity calendar. Last year the London Marathon raised more than £66.4m for thousands of charities like Motivation. And without events that raise much-needed funds, charities around the UK are being forced to reduce or stop many of our usual activities when we are needed most.
I'm taking on the #TwoPointSixChallenge for Motivation - the charity where I work - I'll be running, walking or cycling 5k a day, for 26 days. We support disabled people in developing countries to access wheelchairs and training so they can build empowered and independent lives. We work closely with wheelchair services to ensure people have access to the right wheelchair, in the right way.
The adults and children we work with are often the poorest and most vulnerable in their societies, so COVID-19 will affect them disproportionately. Our work will be more important than ever as the world recovers from the global health crisis. Your support will help us continue our work with people across East Africa and India, and ensure that disabled people are not forgotten about during these unprecedented times.
