My Inspiration
On the 30th June 2018, I’m looking forward to taking part in my 2nd Triathlon event and have high expectations. Despite feeling slightly apprehensive, I know what to expect and I’m confident I can push myself harder to beat my original time. Being an active member of my local church choir, I’m proud to be raising money for Winkfield St Mary's church. In addition, I’m motivated to staying fit, healthy and mentally strong. The Triathlon features an open water swim, followed by a cycle and finishing with a run at Dorney Lake.
My Training
Key to a good performance is the strict training regime that I will follow leading up to the big day. Between now and the 30th June I will be running, cycling and swimming “week on week” to ensure my preparation for the event. I’m fully committed to getting inside of the time I achieved last year, given the experience that I bring 2nd time around. I’m always grateful of the crowd cheering me along and looking forward to a strong sense of achievement in getting over the finish line and collecting a medal.
My Goal
My goal is to complete the event in 30 minutes flat, allowing: circa 6 minutes for the swim, 12 minutes for the cycle, 10 minutes for the run and the remaining time spent in transition. While this is a stretched target, I’m confident I can achieve this if I give 100% effort. Ultimately my goal will be to complete the event in good time, without injury and raising £750 or more for Winkfield St Mary's church.
Please donate what you can, even a couple of pounds would help. I would really appreciate that, in addition to you taking the time to read my story.
Many thanks, Daisy McMahon.
