We promote research into migraine to support people affected by them

Story

I have been suffering with chronic migraine since 2010 and eventually had to give up working in 2017 because of it. For a long time, migraine has ruled my life but I am trying to take back control from it in every way that I can and walking is something I have found has been helping.

The Migraine Trust have been invaluable to me in my migraine journey, in understanding migraine and headache disorders, providing toolkits to help with working with migraine, running events to help me and my loved ones understand migraine better and keep up-to-date on the latest developments and even carrying out migraine research themselves.

I am trying to give back to them for all their help with this epic trek of nearly 200 miles from the west coast at St Bees in Cumbria, across three national parks of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors across to the east coast at Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire.

Migraine is the most common and disabling neurological disorder in the UK, which affects 1 in 7 people. The Migraine Trust is the only research and support charity for people affected by migraine in the UK. We fund and promote research, provide support and information, and campaign for change. For more information about migraine and how we transform the lives of people affected by them please visit www.migrainetrust.org
