Dale's coast to coast

dale clark is raising money for Alzheimer's Society
In memory of Brenda Bryan
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hi everyone I'm Dale Clark and I am taking on this challenge to raise money in memory of my nan who suffered so much for so many years with this terrible illness.

Like most of you know I was over 40 stone 21 weeks ago, I'm still 33 stone so this will make the challenge that much harder. I want to row 293 kilometres, which is the distance from the East coast to the West coast over 32 days, so I will have to average 9.1k a day. I will finish on 4th April which will be 6 months since my surgery and hopefully will be having a good weigh in result to top this challenge off.

Whilst I'm completing this challenge, I will be thinking about all the places that my nan visited on her travels, but my mode of transport will be a rower, unlike nan's tandem. I'm sure I'm going to suffer more aches and pains because I can't put my feet up like grandad accused nan of on the back of the tandem 😊. But its a small sacrifice from me in memory of such a selfless woman ❤ who was my number 1 supporter in battling the bulge in the past.
