Doddie'5 Virtual Ride · 4 July 2020 ·

We've had to postpone this summer's Doddie'5 Ride but to celebrate the big man's 50th Birthday, you can still get on your bike and support the Foundation in Doddie'5 Virtual Ride on Saturday July 4th.

Story

Last year my daughter, her best friend and I headed down to Melrose to take part in a 22 mile cycle. However, the elements were against us and heavyflooding meant roads were closed and the route was cut short but we still had a great time. Soaked through, but undeterred we vowed to return and looked forward to heading to the borders again....... but no such luck.

As the Doddie'5 ride has been cancelled we have decided to hit our local roads instead and cycle the 25miles ourselves.

My Name'5 Doddie Foundation was established by Doddie Weir and trusted friends after the former Scotland and Lions rugby player was diagnosed with MND. It was founded in response to Doddie's frustration at the lack of options given to MND sufferers - no effective treatment, no access to meaningful clinical trials, and no hope. The Foundation aims to raise awareness, generate funds to invest in research into MND, and to support families affected by this devastating disease.
