Leger Legends Horserace · 7 September 2011

The Vickers.Bet Leger Legends Classified Stakes is the only British charity race for ex-professional jockeys. It takes place on the final day of the St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse. The race raises funds for The Injured Jockeys Fund and The National Horseracing College.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The Gibbo rides again! The Leger Legends race takes place for the second time at Doncaster on September 7th. It is the 4th race on the card. All the Jockeys are licenced for the day and it is under the rules of racing. In 2010 we raised over £150,000 for the Northern Racing College and the IJF House that Jack built project in Malton, North Yorkshire. A similar rehab facility to Oaksey House in Lambourn.

This year the same two charities will benefit, with an equal share of the money raised. We have Julie Krone the worlds winning most female Jockey flying from the USA to ride alongside Thierry Gillet a former leading French Jockey and now head of the French Jockeys Association. Also due to ride will be former champion Jockey Kevin Darley, last years winner Charlie Swan and classic winning riders George Dufield and John Reid. However, as I was second last year I will be aiming to win it on September 7th!

Last year we had a truly great day.Thankyou for your donation.
