Story

Pauline was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early April 2022 after being in some abdominal discomfort and going to A&E to have it looked into. It was unfortunately very aggressive and she was taken from us a lot sooner than any of us thought she would be, and definitely a lot sooner than any of us would have wanted. In the time that we did have with her, over the last month of her life she made her final wishes crystal clear. One of those wishes was to do anything we could to help Bristol A.R.C, as this was a cause close to her heart and a place she had a passion for helping.

Pauline had loved animals her whole life owning a myriad of different furry and feathered friends. She had adopted two dogs from the centre to raise and give a home too, and what a home she gave them. Some may think they spoil their fur covered friends, however you have not known a spoilt pup until you’ve seen one served a full roast dinner including lots of gravy!

Pauline was a shining light and a beautiful soul, people could never speak high enough of her and she always loved meeting and being with people. However, for Pauline nothing could beat the company of animals. Someone to give you unconditional love and affection (well unless you count provision of roast dinners a condition) and for you to shower love and affection on to them. Right up to her last days one of her highest priorities was making sure her dog would be looked after and cared for. That was Pauline through and through, always thinking of others before herself and always wanting to make sure people and animals were taken care of.

In her memory we ask you to donate what you can to this amazing cause to help as many animals as possible and hope they find homes as amazing as the one Pauline made for hers.
