Story

Hola all and thanks for taking the time to checkout my just giving page.

I will be taking part in my first triathlon on the 25th of April in Formentera and want to take the opportunity to raise money for charity.

I have been training for the last month and despite my nervousness, I  feel inspired to be raising money for a good cause. I have been training every day for the race which will consist of a 1km swim in the sea, 20km off road cycle and 6km run..Phew

The charity I am raising money for is Independence ZA, it is a charity which assists young South Africans affected by AIDs and poverty, and offers them bursaries and education assistance. The charity is managed by my husband and a few of his friends that all share the same passion. Giving some of these people a future! This way all finances and programs are implemented by our partners. Like this we virtually have no overheads and 95p in the pound reaches our beneficiaries. Being hands on we can  keep you informed of their projects. For example the building of a community centre, serving as a creche. Using a local builder; training people from the community in building skills. Six months after completion all apprentices were in employment.

JustGiving is safe and easy service for donating, and they offer Gift Aid to the charity too for UK doners.

I am new to Traithlon and this is my first fund raising attempt, I hope that you can support this personal cause...and ofcourse that I can finish.

I will keep you updated with my training and send pics of the race etc..

Big African kiss

 and thanks again!

Dee
