Story
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the famous Dambusters raid, the April Fools Club are raising money for the RAF Benevolent Fund's respite care homes project.
They are hosting two events happening over the next year in the hopes to raise £1million for the RAFBF's Respite care homes.
All the funds raised will be going towards respite care for people serving in the RAF. They already have their flagship care home, Princess Marina House situated on the seafront in Rustington, West Sussex and with the funds raised they plan to build more houses.
The home offers a short recuperative break to serving or ex-Service members of the RAF family in a comfortable and tranquil environment.
Princess Marina House is staffed with expert carers 24 hours a day and is fully wheelchair accessible, the RAFBF also offer guests a variety of social activities to take part in.
The first event was a charity dinner that happened in London on the 28th September for 300 people. The evening had live music from ESCALA, The RAF Band and entertainment from magician Lance Corporal Richard Jones and a live auction.
The April Fools Club have also arranged a charity cycle ride from RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, to the Möhne Dam in Germany which will be happening on 16 May 2018, with a finishing date of 20th May 2018.
