I swore I would never ride a bike again after last year, but time changes things, alters perspectives or maybe just allows you to forget all the niggles, aches, pains and sores that you went through. I also managed to raise over $4,500 last year to help some of the poorest kids in Vietnam. With that in mind, I thought it is only right that I put myself through it again and hopefully, can raise a similar amount. This time it's gonna be extra special though... My dad, one Michael Dominic Kilroy, will be riding the 2002km from Hanoi to HCMC with me. At the tender age of 69. I can't wait.
I hope all of those wonderful people who donated last year, can do so again, and we can beat last year's team record, which saw a whopping $50,000 raised between the team.
The ride is completely self-funded, so 100% of all your donations will go directly to helping some of Vietnam's most impoverished children. Most of us are born lucky. These kids have never had a chance. Many kids have no family, have been victims of sex-trafficking or suffered horrific abuse. They need our help. Go Vap orphanage in Saigon currently has a budget of 2 pence per child per day. It's safe to say that every little bit makes a huge difference.
This ride is the most difficult yet most worthwhile thing I have done in my life, and I am going to do it again with my dad. Please give what you can and help provide the motivation through the tough days and steep climbs.
One Love.
