Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 19th September 2018, I lost a very good friend to an assault that occurred outside The Roundhouse Pub in Newton Aycliffe.

Iain was genuinely one of the nicest people you could ever meet, this was a complete tragedy and should never have happened.

I am doing this run to help raise awareness and to show the dangers of fighting whilst on a night out. One punch can change the rest of your life. What might seem like a laugh at the time can end in tragedy.

Those that know me well will know how much of a challenge this will be for me, although I have already lost 3 stones in weight I am still 20 stone. I will have to lose a substantial amount of weight in order to be able to run this half marathon, I will try to lose another 3-4 stone by the time we run in September.

I have never competed in any running events and the last time I was able to run 10 miles was in 2012.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will be going to a worthwhile charity Headway the brain injury association.
