My name is Damien Saiz and I live in West Bergholt, Colchester. I am running the London Marathon on 2nd October 2022 for St Helena Hospice; a charity close to my heart and based in my hometown. They help local people face incurable illness and bereavement, supporting them, their families, friends and carers based in Colchester.

Tragically and all too suddenly, my auntie Teresa passed away last September from cancer. She spent her last few weeks at the Hospice and the staff who comforted and looked after her were and continue to be amazing people; they are some of the most compassionate, selfless and empathetic people I have ever met.

I wanted to give something back so I am running the marathon for the Hospice and in my auntie's honour.

A whopping 63% of St Helena Hospices' funding comes from the public so any donation would have an incredible impact.

Alongside this page I plan to host a quiz evening to strengthen my fundraising so watch this space.
