Story

#pressupsforelderly

Due to the lock down and isolation it has dawned on my what it is like for the elderly members of our society, not just at this time but on any normal day. Luckily, the older members of my family in their 70s are fit and able and have family around them. Unfortunately not all of our older generation have the same luck and that is where Age UK step up.

I debated for a while on what I can do for charity and for which charity. I felt this cause was the one that touched me most.

Most people will feel lonely at some point in their lives. It’s a deeply personal experience that - in most cases - will thankfully pass. Sadly, 2.65m older people feel they have no one to turn to for help and around 3.9m older people consider TV to be their main form of company. Donating to this page will help the national Age UK to continue providing vital services that offer companionship, advice and support for older people facing later life alone. Now more than ever with the Covid19 lock down, this is a vital support network for the elderly

I plan on completing 200 press ups a day from 1st April 2020 till the 30th June 2020. The plan is to find 55 willing volunteers to do the same and we will hit 1 million press ups in the 3 months planned.

All abilities welcome and all efforts are welcome. Even 1 press up a day will be contributing to the effort. Thank you in advanced for all who take part.
