Hi,

I am taking part in the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride on the 10th July 2011 and I would like your help in raising as much money for Christies as possible. The reason I am doing this 60 mile ride is because my family has been affected by cancer on numerous occasions. 8 years ago one of my grandads was diagnosed with myeloma, which is a rare form of cancer found in the bone marrow. My grandad is still fighting to this day and is currently undergoing a course of chemotherapy.3 years ago my other grandad was told that he had terminal prostrate cancer and passed away earlier this year from this awful disease. 2 years ago my grandma was diagnosed with Kidney cancer, she had an operation to remove the kidney and has since been in remission.

Thankfully two of my grandparents are still with us; sadly my Nanna (wife of my recently deceased grandad) was not a fortunate in her fight against Lung cancer. She was diagnosed with this the disease on the 4th July 2007 (my 21st birthday) and passed away on the 1st August 2007 after complications arising from the chemotherapy treatment. She never got to see her great grandchildren Benjamin and Jessica and is greatly missed by all.

Now you know my reasons for doing this please give whatever you can to help The Christie continue the fight against cancer. Even a few pence will be greatly appreiciated.
