Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 2nd March I will be attempting to break the current Guinness World record for the fastest half marathon in an animal costume. The record currently stands at 1hr 32min 21sec.

I have chosen to undertake this challenge to raise funds for CRY because of the great work they do in raising awareness of young sudden cardiac death.

In April 2013 my sister Leighane died aged 32 of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS). The information produced by CRY on their website has been invaluable in helping me to understand what happened to my sister and it is because of this information that I was made aware of the need for me to be assessed for inherited heart conditions.

In addition to raising awareness and providing bereavement support CRY are also involved in holding regular screening clinics and conducting ongoing research into sudden cardiac death.

If you would like to follow my training progress visit my blog, I will try to keep the page updated on a regular basis.
