Bupa Great South Run 2012 · 28 October 2012 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

On 11th July 2012, I was lucky enough to carry the Olympic Flame in memory of my friend Wayne Wilson. I am part of TEAM WAYNE, who were setup in January 2011 to raise funds and awareness for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research after Wayne lost his battle with the disease.

On 28th October 2012, I plan run another 10 miles around Portsmouth as part of the Great South Run. I've ran the race the previous 2 years and my personal best is currently 1:41:00 (9610th place).

This year, I aim to beat my personal best, and several members of Team Wayne will be running alongside me.

I'll be showing off the torch at the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research tent in the charity village after the run. The Olympic Flame will have gone out after the closing ceremony of the Olympics in August, but I'll continue to carry the torch with great pride to help keep Wayne's memory living on.

Please sponsor me and donate to this amazing cause. We can't bring Wayne back, but we can help others in his situation.

Many thanks in advance for your support x
