Story
Hello All.
Somehow Tony and I have managed to get ourselves signed up for another run, this time The Royal Parks half marathon in October! For anyone that knows us, you would know that we would much rather be sat at home with a glass of vino than out running around the streets of London. There is however, a very good reason we’re taking part.
Tony’s brother Aaron Rackley runs an amazing charity called 'Little Heroes Comics’. Little Heroes Comics is a UK based charity that creates and distributes comic making kits to children through hospitals and healthcare organisations across the UK.
The charity started in March 2017 when Aaron wanted to give back to the hospital that helped him during his own time battling cancer in late 2013. He set up a JustGiving account and set a target of £1000 with a plan to create 100 comic making kits.
The support and the feedback from not just the medical field but also the comic book community was so great that Aaron decided to form the charity officially and set out to find funding to create more.
Little Heroes has been alive for over 2 years now and has so far raised over £20,000 which has enabled them to send over 1000 kits out. Fundraising for Little Heroes is a combination of generous donations form individuals and grants from the government, however Little Heroes has released two of its own Anthologies, ‘Strength’, ‘’, and a third on the way! The pages are filled with stories from various creators who have donated their work for free to enable the Anthology to come to life. They are both available to purchase from the Little Heroes online store.
So we are trying to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity and we need your help to do it!
One way to donate is to choose a kilometre of the race to sponsor me for. The donation amount is the same as the KM number, £1 for kilometre 1, £2 for kilometre 2, and so on. I'll keep an updated list of who has sponsored what distance on here. Tony is doing the same but in miles if you want to choose a mile.
Alternatively, please feel free to donate whatever amount you can. Any amount at all is greatly appreciated and 100% goes back to the charity.
If you fancy a day out in London and you enjoy watching people suffer, then come along on Sunday October 13th and cheer us on/hand us wine.
Thanks in advance for your help and support!
