Event: Brighton Marathon 2018, on 15 April 2018
On Sunday 15th April 2018, a team of our amazing fundraisers will be taking on The Brighton Marathon to support our work rescuing animals from suffering around the world

Story

So after running a half marathon many years ago I've forgotten about the experience enough to decide, perhaps foolishly, to do it again for twice as long!

I absolutely love the work International Animal Rescue do - short vid to show this below, and anything I can do to help I will. Ever since seeing Orangutans in the wild I've become obsessed with them. IAR rescue young orangutans that have been taken from their mothers too early and forced into tiny cages to become pets. They also find those stranded as a result of often illegal deforestation and transfer them back to a safe haven.

Any help you can give I'd be massively appreciative of. If I can reach my target then I'll of course be dressing up - outfit TBC (ideas welcome).

Just a few factoids about where the money goes...

£3 could provide a [much larger than normal] bunch of bananas for our rescued orangutans
£4 could provide healing burn cream to a howler monkey suffering from electrocution burns
£5 could provide a pot of honey to treat a rescued sloth bear
£10 could provide a tire swing for the rescued baby orangutans to climb on and sleep in
£25 could help rescue a captive brown bear from unimaginable suffering
£100 could care for a rescued slow loris for an entire month
£200 could feed a rescued orangutan for an entire month

About the campaign

On Sunday 15th April 2018, a team of our amazing fundraisers will be taking on The Brighton Marathon to support our work rescuing animals from suffering around the world

About the charity

We not only save animals from suffering, we also rehabilitate and release them back into the wild, whilst working to protect their habitats. We provide a safe haven for animals that can no longer fend for themselves. In all that we do, we work to find solutions that benefit both animals and people.
