Story

Hi I am Dan, and I am fundraising for Autism East Midlands

From 26th April I will be doing my permitted daily exercise while wearing a Star Trek Uniform each day until I have reached walked a total of 26 miles.   Each day there will be a quick selfie to prove it.

COVID has impacted on us all, but just the lockdown alone can impact on those on the Autistic spectrum.   Daily and weekly activities which were part of the routine, are gone.   Preferred items of food or comfort are scarce, or unavailable.   Highly anticipated events,  such as conventions, gigs, sporting events, and celebrations, are cancelled with more over the next year looking in doubt.   This is compounded by uncertainty over when life will return to normal.

In participating  in the 2.6 challenge, I hope to support this cause by raising awareness and fundraising, and maybe put a smile on a few faces as I do so.   In this way I hope to “make a difference” part of the ‘Star Trek” ethos.
