Story

In June 2013 the world sadly lost a great man to cancer. Not only was he the dad to my better half and three other children but he was a wonderful person to many. Only a few months ago it was estimated that there were 16 million people in the world who are suffering with the disease. More shocking is that 8.1 million people die from cancer every year! Although survival rates are climbing far too many people are still loosing the battle especially considering so many new different types of cancer are being discovered all the time. Cancer research do a fantastic job but they are lacking in support donations. Devastingly cancer beat Bernie but by raising as much money as we can will help go towards one day cancer being beaten.

As Bernie was such a keen climber and hiker we thought of no more fitting way to raise more than to do something he loved. The aim of this walking challenge in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales is to climb Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, some 24 miles, in 12 hours or less.

Thankyou for reading my page and please give what you can, no matter how small.

Thanks in advance guys and girls
