Story
We grow up with a lot of stories about men, and masculinity; about how we should be in the world. Regardless of gender, unpacking who we truly are as individuals from what we have been told we should be (by culture, by society, by capitalism) is a life-long process. I have been fortunate to be able to do some of this work in relation to my own gender - and in the process, understanding myself better and finding an authentic and balanced life.
By providing a diversity of role models and the tools to question themselves, Beyond Equality work with boys and men to break down barriers, expectations, and stereotypes of masculinities. I believe that this will lead to better mental health outcomes and self-actualisation for men, and in turn decrease the disproportionately negative effect this has on all genders.
This feels like vital work and I hope you will suppose this fantastic charity!
