We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 35.

Please take a moment to take that in.  More men die from suicide than cancer, heart disease and every other condition.  This is unacceptable and preventable.

My message is - "Life is worth it".  Im living proof of that.  With support, education and love - we can change that statistic.  YOU can help change that statistic by supporting us here.

The purpose of this challenge is to raise awareness around mental health and suicide.  Change the narrative and perception.  End the stigma.  Also, to educate people about simple mental hygiene habits that can change and save lives.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity, MIND. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Mind is a charity close to my heart.  Helping those with mental health problems.  All of us at some time will experience a dip in mental health.

Read my story about how I got to this point and challenge here :-https://wordpress.com/view/danielwinterbourne.wordpress.com

Please watch this and if it touches you in anyway know that you can help by sponsoring and /or donating for me attempting this challenge.

Why 2,717ft?

Well it all revolves around the height of the tallest building in the world.

I believe everyone should have a roof to fly from. Not fall from.   This 3 part challenge involves -

1) - Hiking up the mountain "High Street", 2,717ft, in The Lake District on World Mental Health day - October 10th 2018.                             Completed and raised £905.00

2) - Climbing 2,717ft up a climbing wall.

3) - Jumping 2,717ft from the Worlds tallest building in Dubai - The Burj Khalif.

I am not a climber and have never done a solo parachute jump so to climb this height and BASE jump is a huge challenge.  They will only be made possible with your help.

These challenges will only be possible with sponsorship.  If you sponsor me, your help will help end stigma around mental health and raise awareness around suicide.

You and your Company will receive as much PR as possible. Mentioned on all related social media, my website, (danwints.com) and any other media. Newspapers, magazines, radio and TV. With whom I will be in contact with.  Logos can be put on any clothing and equipment.

If you donate for me, you will also be helping end stigma and raising awareness through the great work MIND do.

The total cost for ClimbMind is £350.  Sponsorship payments range from £10 - £350.  If you and your company would like to be seen to be encouraging and promoting good mental health by sponsoring ClimbMind then please get in contact with me to find out how you can help.

I am happy to come and relive our experiences from the first challenge in a talk that demonstrates the power of friendship.  (FREE to the first 3 Companies).

It highlights the importance of resilience and determination.  Persistence and compassion.  I explain the benefits to be gained for organisations by nurturing these qualities and how to enhance team cohesion and staff relationships.  I talk about how businesses can make this a reality.  Mental fitness hacks for better business.  Feel better - do better.
