Story

Our youth clubs have goals to meet doing different sporty activities as we Move for Leeds Mencap!

This year, we will be doing a sponsored Sports Day where the members will take part in challenges such as throwing 400 basket balls into hoops, walking the distance from here to Scarborough, scoring 300 goals and throwing 500 bean bags into hoops, across the 4 clubs.

Leeds Mencap is a local, independent charity that supports children and young people withlearning disabilities, and their families. They create opportunities for these children and theirfamilies to be rightfully included within their communities and achieve their aspirations."Lockdown has been extremely hard for me and my family, but the support we have received from Leeds Mencap has been a lifeline. "

Leeds Mencap works to improve the lives and opportunities of children and adults with a learning disability and their families and carers. Although affiliated with Royal Mencap we receive no funding from them, so we rely entirely on donations, grants, sponsorship and the generosity of the local community.
