Oxford Half Marathon 2022 · 16 October 2022 ·

Oxford will welcome thousands of runners for what promises to be a very special day. It's mainly a flat course which means it's perfect for a PB!

Story

Thanks for supporting me to take on the 2022 Oxford Half Marathon!Every day, 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. Too many still face isolation and depression, unable to achieve their potential in a world that blocks their way.

There are few things in life I value more than being able to unravel humanity and the promise of imagination through the written word. I am endlessly grateful for the ability to use sight to read and lose myself in another universe. If I ever lost my sight, I would miss this the most. I want to be able to help people who might not have this privilege to access audio-books for free and continue to enjoy the magic of an alternate life or the epiphany from learning new things.

RNIB wont stop until every last psychological and physical barrier has gone for good. With your help, RNIB can be there when people need them most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you donate is helping create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

£12 could pay for 30 minutes with a sight loss adviser, to help someone cope with the shock of finding out they’re going blind.

£20 could help someone feel more confident about living with sight loss, with personalised support from our expert Sight Loss Advice Service.

£47 could help someone feel more positive about the future after losing their sight, through a one-to-one phone or online counselling session.

£2,500 could make a new adult book available in our Talking Books library, enabling a person with sight loss to enjoy the latest best seller.
