This will be the first time I've taken part in any sort of event like this. I always enjoy doing things for charity, whether it be raising the awareness or contributing to fundraising.
The ride from London to Brighton is for the British Heart Foundation, helping towards the fight against heart disease. It is a 54 mile ride from the buzz of the city, through country lanes and finishing down by the seafront of Brighton.
I lost my Grandad two years ago, someone who I admired and was very close to. This charity ride will be for him and in his memory. He didn't pass away from heart disease, but from cancer. I haven't been able to take part in a charity event for Cancer Research, but still donate monthly. This event for the British Heart Foundation, albeit through another charity, seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to do something for him.
